چکیده

National Institute of Standards and Technology, Gaithersburg, MD 20899 The differences between ITS-90 and IPTS-68 above 1235 K are described. It is shown that none of the following CIE definitions or recommendations require revision because of the introduction of the ITS-90: International Lighting Vocabulary definitions; CIE Standard Illuminants A, Djs, other illuminants; and sources for realizing CIE Illuminants. The effect of the ITS-90 on previously calibrated sources for realizing CIE illuminants is negligibly small.^

The 1990 NIST Scales of Thermal Radiometry

Following an absolute NIST measurement of the freezing temperature of gold and the adoption of the International Temperature Scale of 1990 (ITS-90), NIST has adopted new measurement scales for the calibration services based on thermal radiometry. In this paper, the new scales are defined and compared to the ITS-90, and the effects of the scale changes on NIST measurement services in optical pyr...

Spectroradiometric Determination of the Freezing Temperature of Gold

A direct spectroradiometric determination of the temperature of freezing gold was performed by measuring the spectral radiances of a gold blackbody relative to those of a laser-irradiated integrating sphere which was calibrated with absolute silicon detectors and an electrically calibrated radiometer. The measurements were performed at three laser wavelengths near 600 nm, and the temperature of...

The Kelvin and Temperature Measurements

The International Temperature Scale of 1990 (ITS-90) is defined from 0.65 K upwards to the highest temperature measurable by spectral radiation thermometry, the radiation thermometry being based on the Planck radiation law. When it was developed, the ITS-90 represented thermodynamic temperatures as closely as possible. Part I of this paper describes the realization of contact thermometry up to ...

Evaluation of the total analytical error in the flame photometry method

Background and Objectives: For total analytical error, imprecision (SD) and bias, performance goals for laboratory tests have most often been developed. A total analytical error goal requires that the combination of errors from all sources (random and systematic errors) be within some acceptable limit. M...

ITS-90 Density of Water Formulation for Volumetric Standards Calibration

A new formulation of the density of air-saturated water as a function of temperature on the 1990 International Temperature Scale (ITS-90) is presented. Also, a new equation for calculating isothermal compressibility as a function of temperature on ITS-90 was developed. The equations are to be used to calculate the density of water, in the temperature range 5 to 40 °C on ITS-90, used in the grav...
